Senior giveaway

At this time of year, it isn't unusual for me to sit and think how blessed I am. I have healthy children, a good loving husband and father to my children. We have a roof over our heads, food in our bellies and transportation. There are many who are not that fortunate. Now, again, I am sharing....I would like to bless one more person. There is already another session give away that will be decided on Friday. Now I'm going to give away a Senior session to be drawn on Friday as well. Here is the big, exciting catch to this one, the location, chosen by the winner can be anywhere within 90 miles...that is right. So that means, if the winner wants, we can go to a cooler than cool place in St Louis, you will have senior pics like no body else around here! Reply to this or over on my business page on FB. Give me a "me" and if you reply here, PLEASE include your email so that I can email the winner on Friday. Good luck!

PS the giveaway includes no session fee and a $50 print credit PLUS one sheet of free wallets! You can be a senior this year or a senior for 2012...

Assignment for day 12, Focus on the written word. I chose to photograph a stack of letters from my husband when he was in Iraq and one letter in particular from a little girl, he received while there.

Day 14 was a gift tag project. I chose to photograph images for a tag but am not going to make gift tags. :)

Day 4; You Hold the Key

"There is no friend as loyal as a book."
Ernest Hemingway

The assigment; "We all have at least one remedy, that no matter what, will give us the perspective that we need. The key is to remember what that is and pull it out when we need it most."

In this busy season, a good book does that for me.

Wrapping it up.

I am caught up...I have two sessions this Sunday and then I hang up my camera strap in the client/photographer sense for a month. To say that I'm not excited would be a lie. I love my job, am so grateful that I have the ability to do what I love and make a little with it. But I took on way too much this fall and it is time for some slowing down.

I am participating in a project this month called "Picture the Holidays" each day I recieve an "photo assignment" in my in box to complete for the day. I plan on posting it here as well as on FB.

Thank you to those who I had the absolute honor of photographing this past year. I enjoyed capturing your memories for you. To those who didn't get to me in time to secure an appointment, I hope that you will come back in the spring or fall so that I can work with you.

Here's to a fabulous 2010 and an even better 2011

As most of you know, I am not a studio photographer. I don't like the cheesy backdrops, the usual props, the fake Christmas tree for Christmas pics...but doing Christmas pics Alexanders style is so much different. There is still the traditional tree, add in a client that brings very cool, big ornaments, add in the brick, the wood floors and you get a cool studio session Christmas style.
