Finally I feel like a "big girl"

I have been so fortunate to upgrade as many times as I have over the course of 4 years. Upgrade my equipment that is. I took it step by step....from my trusty Rebel to my 40D, then last year I upgraded to my beloved 50D. This January, I finally took the biggest leap and purchased the camera I have been coveting ever since I started. The 5d mark ii. And no, it is not always the equipment that makes the photographer, not at all....you must know how to compose a photo correctly first. But just like a chef covets fine pots and pans, I have drooled over this baby for a long time. I'm so happy to finally have "him" in my hands...and my photography will not change and to the untrained eye probably won't see a difference, I will be able to tell and that is all that matters. 2011 is shaping up to be a fabulous year!

Williams

These girls are no stranger to my lens. I love that I got hugs when we left and I was asked to order girl scout cookies from the oldest. These are the kind of client/photographer relationships I have with my repeat clients. Such beautiful girls...enjoy your sneak peek.

Katie

It felt SO good to get back outside to shoot. It was chilly, but I think we overcame that pretty well. It helped that Katie decided to use super cute coats and scarves as her essential outfit. Here is part 1 of Katie's senior session. We are doing another one in the spring.

Miss Ella

Children are so honest, open and just "real" I do believe that is a lot of my draw to them. I can photograph them exactly how they feel, no cheesy smile, until they get to be a little older, ;) and their eyes tell such a story. This little girl is no exception. Such a sweetie, so busy and full of life. Here is your sneak peek Carie. Enjoy!

Day 3

I am a day behind on posting but not on the photo itself. I cheated a bit, I took this one last week while we still had snow on the ground. But I love it, it feels wintery. ;)

Seniors 2012 I need you!

I know it's only January, but I'm going to start my senior rep search for 2012 early, give my reps more time to pass out those rep cards. So if you are interested, here is the scoop;

I want at least one girl and one boy senior from one of the local area schools combined. If I don't have any boys contact me withing a reasonable amount of time, I will accept an extra girl. You MUST be a senior for the next school year, you will have your session fee waived. If the senior and her parents are willing, I would love to pick the location and it won't be around here, I'm thinking one of the cool parks in St Louis, maybe an urban area up there as well. If that isn't possible for the senior, we can totally do something fun down here, but it will include an urban session as well as a "country" session. Country sessions mean field, trees, grass, railroad tracks, urban is downtown, buildings, bricks, grunge, etc.

Details; No session fee, senior rep cards to hand out with your name and year on them and a credit to you on your order with every card returned of yours. You can email me, reply here or on my business page on FB or FB mail me.

Day 2

Soothing

I have been sick for a week now. Sore throat, congested, generally feeling like poo. Hot tea with honey and lemon soothes and makes me able to breahte easier.

Personal Project

Because I tend to get caught up in my professional photography, I let my personal passion for photography go to the way side. I am, this year, taking on a challenge; One photo a day for a year. 365 days of photos. I won't necessarily have a theme, but will shoot a photo a day of SOMETHING. I hope you will enjoy following along with me.

Day 1; Lines

E Twins sneak peek

Oh how I wish I would have been photographing when my twins were small. I didn't get any pics of them when they were tiny and still curling in to one another. What a special blessing they are, so sweet, sharing such a small space for such an amount of time to come out and be two different little ones. I feel so blessed to be able to photograph these two little guys. Enjoy your sneak peek Epps family!
