Preparing for your newborn shoot;
Because I shoot without a light set up and use natural light, try to choose a room (or rooms) that have a lot of light coming in, open the blinds or curtains before I arrive.
Have any clothes or blankets ready for use, baby fed just before I get there or as I'm getting there to make for a sleepy, happy subject. :) If we are doing naked baby pics, loosen their diaper just a little before I arrive, this will prevent diaper lines.
Decide before I get there if we are doing everyone or just baby. Especially as a newborn, I love to get parents involved. It shows the love they have for this new little addition.
Have in mind what you want out of the shoot, specific shots you may want. And normally, I do newborns within the first 10 days of being born, so plan ahead! :) |
